Respect Talks: Bystander Intervention

Building on the thematic message that Respect must “talk clearly and loudly” through every one of our daily interactions - and must define how we engage with and respond to others, the Bystander Intervention module discusses how employees can engage in effective Bystander Intervention and share a collective sense of responsibility. The training will provide participants with the tools and techniques to develop heightened awareness and judgement skills as well as strategies to intervene and support one another. Participants will learn various techniques to directly respond, re-direct or how to effectively delay and seek assistance when they witness potentially offensive conduct. Through practical examples and dynamic, interactive knowledge checks, your employees will learn how they can support each other and ensure that everyone, regardless of their position within the company, helps respect be the voice that speaks the loudest, everyday. Respect Talks: Bystander Intervention can be used to satisfy the City of Chicago’s 1 hour Bystander Intervention training requirement.
