NYC LOCAL LAW 96 (2018) NEW YORK CITY-SPECIFIC SEXUAL HARASSMENT TRAINING

This course fulfils the NYC Local Law 96 (2018) of the City of New York, which requires employers with fifteen or more employees in the City of New York to provide all new employees with sexual harassment prevention training within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter.

This course includes a focus on civility promotion/working in the green. Its practical interactive and targeted approach introduces learners to trending topics and uses innovative techniques to develop their understanding about workplace conduct. Topics are aligned with a company's unique policies to address critical questions like:

  • What are some examples of behavior that constitutes sexual harassment in New York City?

  • What is abusive conduct and how does it affect individuals and an organization?

  • What conduct is considered risky or inappropriate?

  • What are our conduct responsibilities when it comes to interactions with vendors, third parties, and independent contractors?

  • What are the top ten danger zones today, including off-premises conduct, social media, and comments on personal appearance?

  • When and how do we intervene?

  • Why is reporting appropriately so important to you and others and what are possible reporting channels?

  • What is the complaint process, both internally and externally, and can complaints be kept completely confidential?

  • What are the potential consequences and remedies under New York City law, federal law and a company's unique policies?

  • What are possible consequences if we violate the policy in and outside of the organization?

  • What are an employer’s obligations to prevent and investigate sexual harassment?

  • What is retaliation and what steps does the employer take to prevent retaliation?

  • What is bystander intervention and how can we engage in it?
