Bullying and Intimidation in the Workplace

(INCLUDES A CYBER-BULLYING FOCUS)

Recent surveys show that approximately one-third to one-half of all employees in U.S. workforces are subject to some form of bullying. Employers have seen bullying produce immediate and long-term legal and safety risks, including a dramatic slippery slope leading to harassment or discrimination-like conduct and actions. In addition, bullying and workplace intimidation can result in increased stress among employees, absenteeism, decreased morale, poor performance, loss of productivity and higher than normal attrition.

Based on your organization’s expectations and latest workplace risks vis-à-vis bullying, intimidating and hostile conduct, Seyfarth at Work’s targeted and practical training uses innovative tools and techniques to understand your responsibility about intimidating workplace interactions. It also provides non-confrontational responses and scripts to address intimidation and bullying in the moment. The training focuses on understanding all forms of visual, verbal, physical (including personal space-related) and cyber/virtual bullying affecting the workplace. It also raises awareness around conduct that is unintentional or where potential consequences are underestimated. This course includes California’s AB 2053 and SB 1343 relevant teaching points, as needed.
